The Dark Horse
The Dark Horse has arguably the most eclectic group of customers in Boulder and is a sight to behold in its own right -- if you've never been it's certainly a must-see. Happy hour is decent (food deals are better than beer deals), the staff are generally lively and friendly, and there's never been a night where I've left wishing I hadn't bothered.

It's getting torn down within 2 years, apparently, so get there while you can! It is definitely not your standard Boulder bar!

Southern Sun
If you like to sit down at a table in a busy, but not crowded or loud atmosphere, and you live in South Boulder, or are willing to ride your bike there, then the Southern Sun is for you. From 10 pm-close every day of the week, the $1 tacos and $2 pints, from what is arguably one of the best local breweries, make this an excellent place to spend a few hours during the evenings.

Southern Sun
Almost every Thursday finds about 70 of my "closest" friends at the Southern Sun. $2 pints and $1 tacos make for a cheap night of drinking. We also usually take poker chips and cards and play some Texas Hold 'em until late in the night. It is always busy but service is easy to find as the waiters and waitresses aren't limited to specific tables. Sometimes you'll get a server on a bad night, but most are happy to see you there.

Southern Sun
While they have excellent fare and the best beer in Boulder, I have found that the set-up of servers not being assigned to specific tables to be a problem. I have had some terrible service due to this, and it got so bad that I actually stopped going even though it was my favorite place for the past few years. I have had a few really rude servers and that is the main reason I don't go anymore. Believe me--it pains me to not go there anymore because I LOVE their beer and food...but by being treated poorly numerous times, I felt I had no choice. Same with Mountain Sun--I went once-twice per week for about six years, and then I got treated so badly so many times that I had to stop going there too. Too many of their servers have way too much attitude.

Bentley's at The Broker
While I hadn't been there in awhile, I was surprised how much fun I had. I went on Monday and they had a Martini Monday special which was great, low key and fun people. Big enough to come with lots of friends and find a seat. They had free appetizers out when we were there. We will be back.
